Youth Month and practical deeds

In March, youths across Binh Duong province enter the Youth Month with this year’s theme of “Binh Duong’s youths volunteering for the community”. 2019 is the year of marking 50 years of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament. This is also a chance for the local youths to uphold their ability, volunteer spirit and grow up from youth movements.

According to aspirations of youths nationwide, March was selected as the annual Youth Month from 2003. Over the past 16 years, many practical activities were implemented during the Youth Month, contributing to the national development and construction.

This year, provincial Youth Union continues launching the Youth Month under the theme of “Binh Duong’s youths volunteering for the community”, aiming to arouse the local youths’ volunteer spirit to serve the cause of national development and construction, take part in promoting Binh Duong on the way of industrialization, modernization and international integration, contributing to building up a smart Binh Duong city. This is also a chance for leaders of the local authorities at all levels and the whole society to join hands in taking care of youths.

At a ceremony launching the Youth Month 2019, provincial Youth Union, Young Pioneer Organizations and relevant units donated works on new-style rural construction; offered 1 “red scarf” house worth VND50million and 1 recreational area free of charge to children at Bau Ao parish in Phu Giao district’s Phuoc Vinh township; planted 200 green trees on Ngoc Han Princess street in Phuoc Vinh township to implement a “youth street following Uncle Ho’s teachings” work. The Youth Union of Binh Duong Medical College also provided free medical check-up for 100 needy people with a total expense of VND15million. The Youth Union of TDM city carried out a “For a green city” work with 20 wastebaskets given for Phu Giao district’s Youth Union. Whilst, the Youth Union of Binh Duong University donated 150 helmets to Youth Union members and people in Phu Giao district; organized a free healthcare program for 300 pupils at An Binh A primary school and An Binh secondary school in Phu Giao district.

On this occasion, provincial Youth Union also coordinated with relevant units to award 2 scholarships to Pham Thu Huong, a ninth grader of Nguyen Trai secondary school and Vo Thi Diem My, a ninth grader of Vinh Hoa secondary school in Phu Giao district. Accordingly, they will be given the monthly subsidy level of VND500,000 each from Vinh Thanh Package Co.Ltd. if getting good academic results. In addition, provincial Youth Union gave school bags for 18 poor-but-excellent pupils in the district…

The annual Youth Month is a chance for youths to express their role, responsibility to the Youth Union, the Party and the nation, thereby contributing to educating young generations about the glorious tradition of the Youth Union. Provincial Youth Union’s major tasks in 2019 are to organize activities on education of revolutionary ideal and tradition through celebrations in the 50^th anniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament, the 88^th anniversary of the Youth Union; engaged in activities to improve the quality of Youth Union activities and cadres, uphold the role of the Youth Union-associations in non-State enterprises; bring into full play the creativeness, volunteer of Youth Unions at all levels and youths in socio-economic development, national defence-security…These activities will contribute to well realizing the Resolution of Youth Unions at all levels, the Resolution of the 10^th provincial Youth Union congress and the Resolution of the 11^th national Youth Union congress for the 2017-2022 tenure.
