Youth Month with Covid-19 fight

During the Youth Month 2020, provincial Youth Union issued a document instructing its branches to adjust operational contents and forms in line with the situation of Covid-19 pandemic. Accordingly, the local youngsters implemented many practical activities, joining hands with authorities at all levels to prevent the pandemic.

Actively preventing Covid-19 pandemic

Nguyen Tan Dat, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union said that provincial Youth Union has instructed its branches to prevent Covid-19 pandemic with main contents, including organizing online conferences on Covid-19 prevention; designing and delivering propaganda leaflets; carrying out video clips on Covid-19 prevention; offering masks and hand sanitizer; setting up volunteer squads on propaganda of Covid-19 prevention; disseminating measures against Covid-19 pandemic among Youth Union members, people from all strata…

As of now, provincial Youth Unions at all levels and associations have delivered more than 103,104 propaganda leaflets on Covid-19 prevention, nearly 5,500 hand sanitizer bottles to lodging facilities crowded with young workers, schools and bus stations; supported 20,192 people making medical declaration on NCOVI application…

Creative models

In the face of Covid-19 pandemic, the local youngsters were very creative in organizing activities, creating youth models in line with the current situation during the Youth Month 2020.

Huynh Thi Thu Thuy, Secretary of Thuan An city’s Youth Union said that during the Youth Month 2020, the city’s Youth Union organized online contests, talk shows, namely “Youth with the law” under the theme of “Youth in Thuan An proudly advancing under the flag of the Party”, “Youth solutions joining hands in building up Thuan An city”, “Youth in Thuan An joining hands for the community”…while instructing all Youth Union branches to sew masks…

Similarly, the Youth Union of Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Company also organized the 2020 “Phuoc Hoa rubber youth with history” online multiple-choice contest. The Youth Union of Di An town launched a “Monument of March” online photo contest. Whilst, the Youth Union of Tan Uyen town designed a video clip guiding people to make medical declaration on NCOVI application. The Youth Union of Thu Dau Mot University kicked off a “Health Challenge” competition, aiming to raise students ‘awareness of Covid-19 prevention. The Youth Union of Bau Bang district sewed 1,500 cloth masks for locals…

Volunteering for the community

The Covid-19 spread has affected the lives of young workers and alien laborers. Hence, the city’s Youth Unions at all levels mobilized proprietors to carry out rent fee exemption and reduction for young workers. They also offered gifts to lottery ticket vendors when the Government suspended all lottery companies for 14 days to help combat the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition, provincial Youth Unions at all levels continued maintaining activities on civilized urban and new-style rural construction during the Youth Month 2020.

They cleaned up 31 kilometers of roads; upgraded 4.5 kilometers of rural roads; made “lighting rural road” works with a total length of 8.6 kilometers; planted 5,000 green trees with a total expense of nearly VND1.5billion. Many creative models were also carried out…Also during the Youth Month, they organized many significant activities on traditional education; carried out a lot of programs paying tribute to heroic Vietnamese mothers, revolutionary contributors, elderly people…on the occasion of the 89th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
