Early July 2, more than 300 youths from provincial Agencies Bloc’s Youth Union were present at a ceremony to launch the 2011 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign. With two volunteer squads, there will be many practical activities made by the bloc’s youths during the campaign.

At 6 am of July 2, hundreds of volunteers from provincial Agencies Bloc’s Youth Union took part in a ceremony to launch the 2011 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign entitled “For social welfare” at provincial Cultural Center. Their brilliant smiles and faces made the launching ceremony get more animatedly.

 

It is known that the bloc’s youths over time actively got involved in many volunteer activities such as anti-illiteracy work, hunger eradication-poverty reduction, law dissemination, primary education universalization…Vu Anh Tuan, vice-secretary of provincial Agencies Bloc’s Youth Union said that they brought locals the images of young people who have known to live for the community…

 

During the campaign, volunteer students from Binh Duong Agriculture-Forestry Junior College and Binh Duong Junior College of Arts, Culture and Tourism will team up with youths in Tuy Duc district’s Quang Tan commune in the Central Highland province of Dac Nong to assist locals with many significant activities, including making irrigation works, transferring sci-tech advancements in agricultural production, providing healthcare, boosting education of traffic safety…

 

Other volunteers of the bloc will also take part in a lot of volunteer activities in the province. Particularly, they will build and present two houses of compassion to the poor; donate 800 gifts, 1,000 sets of text books to needy pupils; provide free medical check-ups for poor people in the remote regions of the province; promote the campaign “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” among the local youths…

 

On the launching day of the campaign, a solemn parade was also held by the bloc’s volunteers. Many participants said that the atmosphere of the solemn showed the local youth strength with the volunteer campaign towards the community.

 

Do Ngoc Huy, vice-secretary of provincial Youth Union said: “With the big size and volume of work, it is sure that this year’s summer campaign will face more difficulties than the previous one. But, as young people in the new age, the local volunteers will contribute their strength to building of a prosperous and civilized homeland.
