Binh Duong has a new national treasure

Update: 17-01-2019 | 12:20:40

An archaeological artifact (photo), which is preserved in Binh Duong Provincial Museum, was recognized as a national treasure under Decision No. 1821/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister. It is expected that at the end of Q1-2019, provincial Department of Culture and Sports and Tourism will hold a ceremony to announce this national treasure. This is the second artifact of Binh Duong to be recognized as a national treasure (the first national treasure is Doc Chua Animal Statue).

This artifact’s date is from the second century to the first century AD, excavated in Bung Sinh area, Phu Chanh commune, Tan Uyen town in 1998. This is a rare and precious artifact that is typical for BC and AD of Phu Chanh, Binh Duong and the Southeast region; a new type of burial tomb discovered for the first time in Vietnamese and the world’s archaeological history; a very new material in studying living activities of ancient people in the Southeast region, contributing to forming new cultural conceptions of people and communities that once lived in this area.
