Binh Duong tourism is on a rise

Diverse products

Binh Duong is well known for its high and dynamic economic development speed. Besides, Binh Duong land has also been known for its lengthy history and diverse culture. These are advantages that have been exploited by Binh Duong tourism industry in order to develop more and more diversified tourism products.

At present, Binh Duong province has 60 historical and cultural monuments which were recognized and ranked; including 13 national monuments and 47 provincial monuments. In the development process, Binh Duong is also home to many unique and famous traditional crafts. The handicraft products made from famous craft villages with hundreds of years of age located in Binh Duong. Some characteristic traditional handicraft villages of Binh Duong are Lai Thieu and Tan Phuoc Khanh ceramics; carpentry and wood carving in Chanh Nghia, Phu Tho; Tuong Binh Hiep lacquer...

Coming to Binh Duong, visitors may also visit beautiful landscapes, ecotourism sites, and traditional festivals. There are also some reservoirs in the province, such as: Dau Tieng reservoir, Than Tho, Can Nom, Da Ban, Phuoc Hoa are favorable for the development of resorts, amusement parks and entertainment centers on the water, sports activities. Besides, the river system, including Saigon, Dong Nai, Thi Tinh as well as canals, have created river landscapes and lush fruit gardens all year round, which are the potential to develop tourism in the province. Every year, there are traditional festivals held in the province, attracting a lot of tourists. The most prominent is the lunar January Full-moon festival taking place at Ba Thien Hau Temple in Thu Dau Mot City.

In tourism development, cuisine is also mentioned with unique dishes of Binh Duong. Some famous dishes, such as My Lien floating fern-shaped cake (with a history of more than 100 years), mangosteen chicken salad, grilled durian chicken... All combine together and create unique culinary values, attracting tourists near and far.

Tourism development

Over 60 years of establishment and development, Binh Duong tourism is ceaselessly developing. The provincial tourism authority has effectively implemented the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws on tourism development strategy in the light of the local practical situation.

Especially, after the Politburo's Resolution No. 08-NQ / TW dated January 16, 2017 on developing tourism into a key economic sector, Binh Duong province is on the way to implement this resolution.  According to Nguyen Thanh Phong, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this is the foundation for Binh Duong tourism industry to further develop in the coming time. The province's tourism industry has actively exploited and brought into play all its potential and strengths to form tourist products serving tourists. “In addition to ecotourism products, river routes, resorts, sports... there is currently an interesting tourism product, industrial tourism. This is a novel product that will attract visitors to Binh Duong in the future", Mr. Phong said.

Also according to Mr. Phong, the province currently has 27 travel agencies, including 10 international tour operators, 4 representative offices. Tourism material facilities have been increasingly improved. The whole province currently has 743 hotels and guest houses with more than 12,700 rooms, of which 41 hotels are rated 1-5 stars with 1,022 rooms. The system of restaurants is quite diverse, meeting the demand of people and tourists. Besides, the province has also formed a number of commercial centers, large-scale supermarkets, abundant source of goods to serve tourists. In particular, Binh Duong ceramic and lacquer products are very popular to majority tourists, are often bought as souvenirs when they come to Binh Duong.

With the careful attention and direction of the province, the involvement of tourism industry, the collaboration of departments, agencies, unions and localities, in recent years, Binh Duong tourism has made a significant change. The number of tourist arrivals in Binh Duong is increasing, the following year is always higher than the previous year. To take advantage of tourism potential and advantages and contribute to the socio-economic development of the province, Mr. Phong said that, in the coming time, Binh Duong tourism authority attached attention to a number of issues, which is to exploit, invest, maximize the potential and available advantages, and continue to improve and renew products; integrate tourism products together, especially within the Southeast region, to boost the development of Binh Duong tourism; support and share information with investors, businesses, organizations and individuals to have opportunities to learn and participate in tourism development investment projects in the province; give training and prepare human resource to serve the growing tourism...
