Cham leader becomes election propaganda agent

Update: 06-04-2021 | 17:21:50

We have the opportunity to go to Minh Hoa commune of Dau Tieng district at 9:00 am this April. At the time, it is not yet sunny, all activities of the local people are still going on normally, but there is a difference that everyone is eagerly looking forward to the election day of deputies to the 15th National Assembly Members of the People's Council at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure.

The slogans of election are hung at the front of Muttaqin Mosque at Minh Hoa Commune in Dau Tieng district as Cham people are eager for the election day

In these days, joining the atmosphere towards the big festival, the Cham ethnic people in Minh Hoa commune are also eagerly waiting for the election day. From village elders to young people, everyone is eagerly looking forward to the day when they can hold their voter cards to exercise their citizenship.

At Hoa Loc hamlet, where there are 108 households with 502 people living in the Cham ethnic group, people have been propagated about the election in many lively forms; most of them have understood the election responsibility for this election. In order to facilitate the propaganda of the election of the Communist Party of Vietnam for the 15th term and the delegates of the People's Council at all levels for the 2021-2026 term, Xa Lim, the Cham patriarch has become the closest propagandist to his ethnic group.

When more than 100 Cham people gathered at Muttaqin Mosque, taking advantage of the first 10 minutes of the hour, Xa Lim said: “The election of the 15th National Assembly delegates and the representatives of People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure will progress from and on May 23, 2021. This is an important political event of the nation to select and elect the representatives who deserve to represent the will, aspirations and ownership of the people in the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the new term by actively contributing to build, consolidate and perfect the socialist rule-of-law State of the people, by the people, and for the people under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam. That is why the electoral participation is both a right and a glorious responsibility of the citizens.”

Just like that, little by little and day by day, thanks to the efforts of Xalim, the local Cham ethnic minorities know better about the upcoming election. For example, the 5 am story every day, Mohammad (47 years old at Hoa Loc hamlet) gets up to drive his car to the markets to sell mosquito nets. At this moment, the loud speaker rang out: "The right to vote is a fundamental right of citizens..." The day he went to the market near his house and when he went to another commune market, he was greeted every morning with a lot of information about the election through the Radio Station. About 1 month ago, he almost remembered most of the propaganda about the purpose, meaning, Law of Election. He said: “Our Cham people are also very modern now. In addition to the propaganda of the Radio Station, we also receive information about the election through television and electronic newspapers on the phone. It’s the 4.0 revolution era as it is!"

The messenger

A Zit, a Cham ethnic living at Minh Hoa, said that after having access to information from both Xalim, Radio and other news channels, he understood that voting and standing for election was the right and responsibility of each citizen. “We are allowed to directly vote for the representative of our will, aspirations and mastery to exercise the State power on our behalf and contribute to setting up the State apparatus to conduct social management activities," said A Zit.

Talking to us, Nguyen Thanh Liem, Deputy Chairman of Minh Hoa Commune People's Committee said that awareness of the election of the 15th National Assembly and deputies to the People's Council of 2021-2026 tenure is an important and extensive political event that the commune has directed propaganda on election work, especially among ethnic minorities. Along with the Radio and Broadcasting system, the commune has also strengthened the propaganda through visual propaganda by posters, slogans, banners, banners, flags and so on. Particularly for ethnic minorities, communes have also strengthened the display of posters, slogans and banners at the gate of Muttaqin Mosque. Mobile propaganda vehicles are also regularly sent to Hoa Loc hamlet, where the Cham people live; thereby, creating a cheerful and excited atmosphere to encourage all voters to be enthusiastic and actively prepare for participation into the election and to wisely select qualified, capable and reputable people who represent the will, aspirations and mastery of the people to elect to the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.
