The event is a fitting tribute to the health care facility in the Asia region that is good at providing quality standards in the areas of delivering quality disinfection Pacific and sterilization services and recycling medical fabric.

The award is implemented by APSIC from 2013. By 2018, total 23 hospitals in the Pacific Asia won the award and Medical University Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City is the first one of Vietnam to receive the award.

Hospital-acquired infections is one of life-threatening factors to patients. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), every year, more than 2 million people get hospital-acquired infections in the world and 90,000 of them died.

Therefore, to improve a hospital’s quality, disinfection must be done continuously and it should be a hospital’ culture of quality.

Hospitals with good sterilization quality will contribute substantially to creating a safe environment and reducing hospital-acquired infection cases and subsequently, it helps cut cost of patients’ treatment.
