In the afternoon of March 2, talking to reporters of Binh Duong Newspaper, Nguyen Hong Chuong, Director of the Department of Health, said that by the afternoon of the same day among 6 patients reported of Covid-19 infection in the community in the province, one patient has been cured. That is patient 1801 named N.T.P. residing at Ca Na hamlet, An Binh commune, Phu Giao district. She has been cured by treatments and discharged from hospital and continued to follow quarantine measures at Phu Giao District Medical Center for another 14 days as per regulations on the prevention and control of Covid-19.

Patient 1801 was known as the first community infection in Binh Duong province on January 30. Previously, she was in close contact with patient 1644 during her attendance at a wedding in Hai Duong. The epidemiologic investigation uncovered 94 F1 and 250 F2 exposure who were quarantined in concentrated camps and were all negative to Covid-19.

Thus, up to now, Binh Duong provincial General Hospital is quarantining and treating 5 patients infected by Covid-19: patients 1843, 1886, 1887, 1957 and 1980. Currently, the patients are in normal and stable health status. Patient 1843 (N.T.M.A.), a student from Thu Dau Mot University, had a negative test result once. Particularly, patients 1886, 1887 and 1957, are mother and her children showing negative test results for 3 times. Patient 1980, a rice shipper residing at Ehome4 Apartment at Vinh Phu ward, is still positive for SARS-CoV-2.

According to Nguyen Hong Chuong, the pandemic in Binh Duong province has been controlled; however, each citizen needs to strictly follow regulations on pandemic prevention and control as well as following the ‘5K’ message of Ministry of Health as the pandemic risk for the community remains.
