Geographical information database, scale 1/2000 to be set up

According to Department of Natural Resources and Environment, since 2014, the department has carried out the building of geographical information database at 1/2000 scale. The project aims to build a set of cardinal data as a basis for the implementation of Geographic Information System (GIS) projects in the province.

As a result, the department built a set of elemental geographic maps; established a set of topographic maps in the measured areas to avoid duplication in funding GIS projects In addition, the department used topographic maps from the project to develop planning, functional zoning performed by urban management offices of districts, towns and cities; provided topographic maps for Department of Home Affairs to implement the project "Completing and modernizing documents, administrative boundary maps, and building a database on administrative boundaries" in Binh Duong province.
