Industry and trade sector to support businesses

Industry and trade sector is committed to support businesses to quickly remove difficulties to help businesses develop stably, ensure the whole industry growth target for 2019, reach sustainable growth.

Many manufacturing industries increase quite well

In 7 months of 2019, provincial industrial production index increased by 8.1% over the same period last year, of which mining industry increased by 2.7%, processing and manufacturing industry increased by 8%, production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam, and air conditioning increased by 21.4%... In field of export, the province's turnover was estimated at $15.56 billion, up 13.3% compared to the same period last year; trade surplus reached $3.8 billion.

According to assessment of industry and trade agencies, Vietnam's signings of EVFTA and IPA are expected to open up many export opportunities for agricultural products, textiles, footwear, furniture... of domestic enterprises in general, Binh Duong province in particular when this market remove most of import tariff lines. In addition, EVFTA would also help Vietnamese enterprises to purchase equipment and services with competitive prices from the European Union and increase the attraction of investment from the EU to Vietnam.

However, EVFTA also set strict requirements for origin of goods - this is a condition to enjoy preferential policies from this agreement. IPA alone allows implementation through a new investment system, while ensuring that both governments have the right to regulate the interests of the parties.

Nguyen Van Duoc, Director of provincial Department of Industry and Trade, said that the province's industrial production activities in 7 months of 2019 maintained a relatively stable growth rate. In the coming time, provincial industry and trade sector will continue to assist businesses through programs of trade and industrial promotion. Accordingly, this sector will actively support businesses to enhance trade promotion and technology investment.

To recommendations of enterprises related to mechanisms and policies, in their powers and functions, industry and trade agencies will actively collaborate with other agencies to remove problems and report macro-level recommendations to higher authorities for consideration and resolution.

Together with enterprises to solve difficulties

Pham Thanh Dung, Deputy Director in charge of Investment, Trade and Industrial Development Promotion Center, said that in the coming time, this center would support industrial enterprises to expand and develop their markets, introduce products, brand names, connect trade, and find potential partners.

Recently, the industry and trade sector gave advice onProvincial People's Committee’s draft Resolution on spending content, the level of support for industrial promotion activities in the province. Accordingly, the level of support for technology procurement increased to VND300 million, the support level for technical demonstration model amounted to VND1 billion; In addition, there are other levels of support to improve industrial promotion activities.

Provincial Department of Industry and Trade will collaborate with related departments and agencies to quickly solve difficulties of industrial production enterprises. In addition, the Department continues to focus on administrative reforms in order to create the most favorable conditions for taxpayers, contributing to improving the business environment, improving the national competitiveness according to general guidelines of the Government. Besides, this sector continues to cooperate with business associations, professional associations to organize business meetings with local leaders, agencies such as customs and banks... to share difficulties and find solutions.

Recently, representatives of Department of Industry and Trade met business representatives to solve difficulties according to specific recommendations of enterprises and industry characteristics. Particularly since the beginning of this year, the department’s representatives have visited and worked with many businesses; cooperated with Statistics Office to survey and learnt about difficulties and needs of enterprises. Thereby, the Department reviewed and understands the causes, thereby proposed solutions to timely solve difficulties for businesses, especially processing and manufacturing enterprises in order to improve production capacity and expand markets...

In the coming time, Department of Industry and Trade will connect the supply and demand of agricultural products; develop plans to implement super promotion program in 2019 of the province; develop a plan to stabilize the essential goods market in 2020and submit to Provincial People's Committee. The Department will also join hands with district People's Committees to develop a plan for checking, arranging markets and Tet sale locations; effectively implement local industrial promotion projects; develop detailed projects of local industrial promotion program in 2019.

The Department will also perform the examination, supervision, and design of industrial projects and public lighting; continue to implement well the energy audit and cleaner production program...
