Attaching special importance to economic development

The province is home to 24 ethnic minority groups with 28,226 people. Over the past time, under the attention of provincial Party Committee, People’s Committee, sectors and mass organizations in the province mobilized all resources to take care of the spiritual and material lives of ethnic minority people. There are now 79 poor ethnic minority households and 1,694 well-off ones.

The province also paid attention to helping the local poor ethnic minority people make the shift of animal and plant structure; encouraged them to rise up for legitimate wealth; attached special importance to training basic skills of tapping rubber latex, tending ornamental trees, growing mushroom…

La Van Su, a San Chay ethnic minority resident in Phu Giao district’s Tam Lap commune said that thanks to the attention and support of the local authorities at all levels, his family rose up out of poverty, securing a stable life. The lives of the local ethnic minority people have also got better.

Nguyen Huynh Dinh, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee said that the lives of the local ethnic minority people are very stable. Implementing programs on granting land for production, making rural roads, building schools and markets…over the past time contributed narrowing the gap in living standards between the local ethnic groups. Along with the State’s common ethnic minority policies, the province has always paid attention to supporting the local ethnic minority people. Hence, their lives have changed obviously…

Spiritual life improved

Together with stable economy, the spiritual life of the local ethnic minority people has been improved with significant cultural-sports exchanges.

The local ethnic minority people have actively practised cultural lifestyle; preserved and brought into full play their cultural identities; taken part in constructing and protecting historical and cultural works. Especially, they have always responded to the movements of making rural roads, urban rejuvenation; well realized the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws.

Along with taking good care of the spiritual and material lives of the local ethnic minority people, the province has strengthened law dissemination among them with main contents pertaining to the Law on Residence, the Law on Marriage-Family, the Law on Road Traffic and regulations when driving…

Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that the province will further implement ethnic policies in a synchronous way; improve the spiritual and material lives of the local ethnic minority people; well realize vocational training for them; provide them with support in terms of loans, techniques, nurslings, breeding animals…in the coming time. The province will also boost State management, upholding the role of prestigious individuals in disseminating and mobilizing the local ethnic minority people to well realize the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws.
