North Tan Uyen district Veterans’ Association attaches importance to traditional and historical education for the younger generation

In recent years, Veterans’ Association and affiliates of North Tan Uyen district have done well the education task of revolutionary traditions for the young generation, contributing to inspiring, motivating youth union members in the district.

 

North Tan Uyen district Veterans’ Association in collaboration with the district Youth Union organizes a visit to old battlefield Bong Trang - Red House in Tan Binh commune.  

Those who directly fought and dedicated their youth to the revolution, the cause of national liberation, members of the district Veterans’ Association, with the qualities of the soldier of Uncle Ho, became examples and had many actions to propagate, raise the revolutionary tradition, the patriotism of the young generation.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Chairman of North Tan Uyen district Veterans’ Association, said: "Defining the task of educating the revolutionary tradition, patriotic heroism for the young generation in the current period is an important task, in recent years, we have coordinated with the Youth Union and other local agencies and organizations to carry out many meaningful activities. These activities contributed to building a generation of patriotic youth, consistent with the goals and revolutionary ideals of the Party and beloved Uncle Ho. "

Accordingly, the association focused on renovating the education on ideal, ethics and lifestyles for the youth through concrete action movements such as implementing cooperative programs with Youth Union on reinforcing the ideal fostering revolution, companionship with the youth, entrepreneurship, build up and defend the motherland; paying attention to thoughts, social opinions of young people... The most prominent was the traditional education for the youth through propaganda programs in the form of talks, exchanges, and collaborative activities of "Gratitude", "Drinking water remembering its source".

Every year, on big occasions like the founding of the Party (Feb 3), national liberation day (Apr 30), birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19 ), North Tan Uyen district Veterans’ Association actively cooperates with Youth Union, schools to organize talks, exchanges between historical witnesses with students. At the talks, the association cleverly linked traditional education contents with studying and following Uncle Ho's teachings, the campaign "Building cultural life in residential areas" and the movement "New rural construction" to help young persons understand more deeply the heroic history of the nation, promote their own capacity, actively participate in building the country, socio-economic development, maintain national defense, be enthusiastic on the road to defend the fatherland. In the year 2017, North Tan Uyen district Veterans’ Association organized 43 propaganda and traditional talks for students, attracting more than 3,000 students. In addition, the association coordinated with the Youth Union to clean up monuments, burn incense to heroes of martyrs, organized activities of returning to the source, visiting ancient battlefield like Bong Trang - Red House and historical relics in the district...

Many times participating in traditional talks as well as educating activities for the young generation, said Dinh Duc Hung, an active member of North Tan Uyen district Veterans’ Association: “We are proud to contribute to traditional education for the younger generation. I hope that, in the coming time, the association will have more activities with diversified forms to help youth members and students to widen knowledge, understand and promote the revolutionary tradition in the new era ".
