Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong has reiterated Vietnam's recognition of great importance to the friendship and all-around cooperation for peace and development with Israel.

At a March 20 reception for Israeli President Reuven Ruvi Rivlin in Hanoi, the Party chief hailed the Israeli President’s State visit and noted with satisfaction the sound development of the two countries’ cooperation, particularly in trade, hi-tech agriculture, science-technology, and military technique.

He reaffirmed Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation and development, and multilateralization and diversification of foreign relations on the basis of equality, mutual benefit, and compliance with basic principles of international law.

Trong suggested both nations should further boost bilateral collaboration by strengthening economic ties, encouraging investment partnerships, intensifying delegation exchanges at all levels, thus deepening mutual understanding and trust and improving cooperation effectiveness.

President Rivlin, in turn expressed his admiration for late President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese people who struggled for national independence.

He praised Vietnam’s renewal achievements and its regional and international profile while displaying the belief that the country will obtain even greater achievements in the national development and defence under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

Rivlin affirmed his nation's readiness and resolve to solidify amity and affiliation between the two nations, especially in science-technology, agriculture, trade, security-defence, and education-training.

He called on both sides to continue making the best of opportunities and potential to further bilateral ties in the not so distant future.
