Ramshackle old motor vehicles need to be recovered and removed

The Prime Minister has directed People's Committees of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and other provinces, cities at high risk of air pollution should strictly implement the development and execution of air quality management plan in accordance with the Prime Minister's direction in Decision No. 985a/QD-TTg.

Accordingly, on key task is to accelerate the enactment and implementation of public transport system development plan, with priority given to vehicles using clean energy, without emissions; to withdraw and eliminate old and outdated motor vehicles that fail to meet circulation standards, or cause environmental pollution in city; develop non-motorized traffic; encourage people to use public transport, reduce personal vehicles; promote communication about the use of environmentally friendly means of transport.

In addition, the provinces and cities need to organize the implementation of reasonable traffic flow and regulation to limit prolonged congestion causing environmental pollution….
