The provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control has issued a plan to ensure the circulation and supply of essential goods and to stabilize the market in districts, towns and cities to ensure sufficient supply for consumers. In all situations, there is absolutely no situation of sudden price spikes or scarcity of goods.

According to the direction, businesses ensure to reserve and supply goods in sufficient quantity and quality as required. Essential items to serve the shopping needs of the people, including food (rice, sticky rice...), processed food (sugar, milk, monosodium glutamate, instant noodles, cooking oil, dipping sauce, beverage, confectionery, candy...), fresh food (cattle meat, poultry, chicken eggs, duck eggs...), petroleum, and goods for disease prevention and control (masks, medical equipment for disease prevention and control, etc.). The total value of goods regularly stored in the warehouses of 11 supermarkets is always guaranteed at about VND 685.5 billion excluding gasoline, medicine, masks, and medical equipment for disease prevention and control.

Department of Industry and Trade has worked with suppliers and it is expected that the supply of cattle meat, poultry and eggs will supplement the supply to the market. Accordingly, suppliers have guaranteed 2,250 tons of buffalo and cow meat per month, 7,500 tons of pork a month, 3,750 tons of poultry meat a month, and 40,000,000 eggs a month. The Department of Industry and Trade has also directed the units to quickly stabilize the market of vegetables and fruits of all kinds by connecting supply and demand with businesses inside and outside of the province.

For medical supplies, the units are implementing the plan of the provincial People's Committee on preferential loans for production to ensure sufficient quantity to serve at hospitals and community residents. In which, Sen Viet Medical Supplies Company Limited, Branch of Dinh Huong Phat Trading Production Company Limited, Nalt Garment Company Limited, and HTC Corporation are on the list. Department of Industry and Trade assigned two enterprises of Thanh Le Trade-Export Corporation and Song Be Petroleum Company to undertake full supply for the entire petroleum system in the province with an expected increment in the number of 10-12% over the same period.
People do not need gathering to shop

According to Ms. Phan Thi Khanh Duyen, Deputy Director of Department of Industry and Trade, in residential areas, the form of mobile vending carts or selling points of essential goods are set up to sell directly to people at retail locations of post offices and cultural post offices in communes, wards, and townships; the selling points are used when there is an increased need introduced by the locality. “We will coordinate with branches and units to make every effort to ensure safety in the supply of goods.  If the traditional market is not blocked, it is allowed to operate but safety must be ensured. Small businesses selling goods must have a negative test result within 3 days with a rope at the front to ensure that the distance between the seller and the buyer is at least 2 meters,” said Ms. Duyen.

Particularly for blocked areas, the Steering Committee for Disease Prevention and Control at district and commune levels, depending on the actual situation in the locality, actively arranges to receive orders from people in the following forms, such as online, google forms etc. to arrange forces to the post offices to buy and receive goods to replace people. People are encouraged to increase online shopping by phone numbers, online or supermarket apps.
