With the meaning of building Vietnamese working class in industrialization and modernization period, all levels, branches and trade unions in Binh Duong have implemented many solutions. Through practical works, workers are happier and have made long-term commitment to Binh Duong.

To diversify activities

To take good care of worker’s spiritual life, in recent years, provincial Labor Federation and grassroots trade unions regularly organize cultural, entertainment and sport activities for workers to play after tired working hours. Every year, trade union levels cooperate with employers to organize tours, exchange, experience learning for workers, such as fashion contest, singing contest, elegant workers, flower arrangement contest, cooking and sports activities. An example of these activities was workers’ singing competition of trade unions at all levels made much beautiful impression. The contest attracted a large number of workers as participants and visitors. Many performances of solo, duet, chorus, dance... were carefully prepared and staged by workers.

Workers took part in a sport event hosted by trade unions.

Mr. Ninh Xuan Hien, Chairman of Di An town Labor Confederation, said: "In order to improve the spiritual life of workers, every year, the Executive Board regularly cooperates with grassroots unions and employers to organize practical activities, like sporting events, music shows… to encourage workers’ spirit, improve labor productivity.”

With the meaning of "Physical training following Uncle Ho's example," trade unions at all levels held many workers’ sporting events. These are tournaments for men and women's football teams in enterprises. This has been not only as a playground, but also as a place for exchanging, learning and sports training among labor force. Recently, Framas Viet Nam Company (Song Than 2 Industrial Park) has also hosted a workers’ sporting event that attracted hundreds of athlete, who are officials, trade unionists, workers at factories and company offices. Competitions included basketball, tug of war, slow bicycling, and football. Total prize value was up to VND80 million and many other gifts such as: Sport shoes, backpacks, coats...

Huynh Thi Lieu, a worker at Framas Vietnam Company, said: "After hard working hours, workers need a healthy playground for entertainment, singing, enjoying music, playing sports or having fun, and making friends. Therefore, workers are looking forward to more cultural activities, sports and physical training.

Further enhancement of cultural life

In addition to activities of the grassroots trade union level, provincial Labor Confederation has also paid much attention to improving the spiritual life of workers. Provincial Labor Confederation has completed the inspection, evaluation of the planning and construction of cultural institutions and entertainment centers in industrial zones. Thanks to the support of Vietnam General Labor Federation and provincial People's Committee, provincial Labor Confederation launched the construction of Workers’ Culture and Sport Center in Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park (Thuan An Township).

Due to the actual demand in Ben Cát town, Di An Town, Bau Bang district, where have many industrial parks and clusters, but no cultural and sport center for workers, provincial Labor Confederation petitioned for land and investment capital to build Workers’ cultural center. In addition to cultural institutions, provincial Labor Confederation also paid attention to the construction of kindergartens in industrial parks. At present, there are 9 units investing in kindergartens for workers with the scale of 2 to 10 classes, each class could take care from 25 to 40 children.

Provincial People's Committee promulgated a project of "Promoting lifelong learning activities in labor force in enterprises till 2020". By 2020, 90% of workers would receive vocational training. Therefore, provincial Labor Federation cooperated with a number of departments to develop "learning bookshelves" at enterprises to serve workers. Each year, the program also offers 1,000 scholarships to outstanding workers who attended long-term training courses and achieved high results in terms of qualifications, political and technical skills, foreign languages, and informatics. In particular, provincial Labor Federation researched and built up a model of "place of learning and cultural activities" for workers in industrial zones and clusters. Each place will be equipped with 2 bookshelves, some necessary press, an internet computer set, TV and DVD player.

Especially, provincial Labor Federation and Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism have jointly signed a joint program on "Building cultural life among workers, civil servants and employees in the 2017-2021 period". Accordingly, the two units will accelerate the implementation of signed contents to build up Vietnamese working class in industrialization and modernization period.
