To innovate and enhance patriotic emulation movement

On Sep 30th, Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Duong province solemnly held the 5th Patriotic Emulation Congress 2020. Attending the congress were Tran Van Nam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial National Assembly's delegation; Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee; Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Vo Van Minh, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Van Loc, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of Provincial Party Mass Mobilization Board, Chairman of Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Vietnamese heroic mothers, Heroes of People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes of the "Doi Moi" period, veterans, former provincial leaders, leaders of provincial departments, branches, unions, districts, towns, cities, together with examples in the patriotic emulation movement.

To inspire patriotic emulation spirit

The 5th Patriotic Emulation Congress 2020 is an important political event marking the maturity and crystallization of the local patriotic emulation movement. This was an opportunity to summarize and evaluate the achieved results, to objectively evaluate shortcomings and limitations, draw lessons, propose solutions and objectives in the emulation and commendation work; continue to arouse the enthusiasm for emulation of all strata of the people in the province, motivating patriotic emulation movement in the province.

Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of Provincial Emulation and Commendation Council, emphasized: Over the past 5 years, provincial Party and government attached great importance and special attention to the implementation and organization of patriotic emulation movement; the reform of content and method of implementation, to specify this movement as the key motivation for the successful implementation of political tasks and socio-economic development goals of the province. In particular, emulation movements were integrated into political tasks of each branch, locality, and unit, contributing to good results. Many emulation movements have spread extensively, such as: "The national movement to build new rural areas", "Vietnamese enterprises integrate and develop", "The whole country joins hands for the poor - no one is left behind", "Public employees strive to build up office culture"...

Many emulation movements launched in 2015-2020 period clearly defined its objectives and tasks, had comprehensive contents, both promoted production development, stabilized and improved workers' lives, while focusing on maintaining political security, social order and safety, fighting against social evils, building cultural life in residential areas. Many emulation movements attracted the participation of a large number of civil servants, soldiers, union members, youth members, and people from all walks of life, bringing many practical benefits to society, collectives and individuals, such as: The movement "All people protect national security", "Effective labor - Sustainable development - Successful integration", "Good labor, creative labor", "Improving productivity, quality, lowering product costs", "Skill training, good worker examination", "Promoting technical improvement initiatives, improving the quality of production efficiency"...

Looking back at the movements in the past 5 years, it can be said that these were really the driving force for the local socio-economic development. The good results of patriotic emulation movements contributed to building a strong Party, government and organizations, taking better care of the material and spiritual life of the people, maintaining social order and safety; strengthening the great national unity bloc. Emulation movements in areas of manufacturing and production contributed to boosting the provincial economy with a decent pace; quality and efficiency are increased year by year; most of economic growth targets in this period were fulfilled.

To facilitate Binh Duong's sustainable development

With the motto "Solidarity, creativity, emulation for a civilized and thriving Binh Duong", the 5th Binh Duong Provincial Patriotic Emulation Congress 2020 determined the task of innovating, enhancing patriotic emulation movement, detecting, summarizing and replicating advanced examples. At the congress, Nguyen Van Loc, Head of Provincial Party Mass Mobilization Board, Chairman of Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, called on party committees, governments, fronts, unions, business community and people's classes to strive for the successful implementation of political tasks, socio-economic objectives in the next period, building a growing thriving Binh Duong province.

Mr. Nguyen emphasized that in the coming time, Fatherland Front would continue to call for extensive implementation and improve the quality and effectiveness of the movement "The whole people unite to build cultural life", the campaign "The whole people unite to build new rural and civilized urban areas"; encourage physical training and sports activities for the community, improve the physical and mental health of the people; focusing on building cultural institutions, sports and promoting cultural elements in party, state, union, enterprise and community so that culture is really the driving force, facilitating socio-economic development and international integration; to enhance the roles and responsibilities of communication and dissemination, ethical and lifestyle education in the family. It is necessary to boost emulation movements for economic growth tied to strengthening national defense, security, political protection, maintaining social order and safety, promoting the emulation movement of learning and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics and lifestyle...

The 5th Patriotic Emulation Congress 2020 also comprised talks with 4 exemplary individuals in the patriotic emulation movement; awarded second-class Labor Medals to 2 individuals, third-class Labor Medals to 3 individuals; awarded Emulation Flag of the Government to 8 collectives; awarded Provincial People's Committee's Emulation Flags to 32 collectives; awarded Provincial People's Committee’s certificates of merit to 71 collectives and 329 individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2015-2020 period.
