To light up the dream of pigeons

On occasion Lunar New Year 2020 and the 70th Students' Day, Provincial Youth Union's Executive Committee, Secretariat of Provincial Students' Union carried out a meaningful program: joining hands with businesses to give Tet gifts to 100 disadvantaged students, and at the same time launch the project "Light up pigeons' dream" with many gifts and scholarships worth up to VND 1.3 billion for students having difficult circumstances.

100 children and students receive Tet gifts on occasion of the 70th Vietnamese Students' Day.  

 Among 100 students, who received Tet gifts on occasion of the 70th Vietnamese Students' Day, each has a specific situation. Phạm Thị Ngọc Linh, a student has a difficult situation and is studying at Binh Duong Medical College, said that because of her parents’ divorce, Linh lives now with her father. When she left high school and became a student, her father suffered a stroke. Therefore, Linh has to study and do part-time jobs to pay school fees.

Vương Thành Giàu, a student of Binh Duong Economics Junior College, said: “Two years ago, my mother was seriously ill and passed away. My father is currently a worker with a monthly income of 5 million VND. My brothers have their own families but are also very difficult”. Despite of difficult family circumstances, Giàu always tries his best in studying, actively participates in Youth Union movements at the university.

In order to uphold solidarity, on occasion of Tet 2020, Provincial Youth Union's Executive Committee, Secretariat of Provincial Students' Union in collaboration with Binh Duong Lottery Company presented 100 Tet gifts and cash to 100 disadvantaged students and children at schools and universities in the province. Thereby, giving strength, motivating the learning spirit so that young people could always advance on the path of learning.

In addition to Tet presents, in order to take care of students having difficult circumstances in the province, Provincial Youth Union's Executive Committee, Secretariat of Provincial Students' Union and Thu Dau Mot University signed a cooperative plan for the project "Lighting up pigeons' dream" with an initial cost of VND1.3 billion. The project has a combination of many resources to give scholarships, gifts to students in the province.

Specifically, The Gioi Di Dong Company awarded 96 scholarships to elementary, junior high and high school students with a total value of 700 million VND in the school year 2019-2020. Dai Thien Loc Joint Stock Company with the fund "DTL - Light up the dream of students" awarded 130 scholarships, including 10 full scholarships of 4-year tuition for students and creating job opportunities for graduates with a total value of VND 500 million, the period of 2020-2025. Binh Duong Lottery Company offered 100 Tet gifts and cash to 100 students with a total value of 100 million VND. In addition, Vietcombank Binh Duong branch granted 30 scholarships worth 150 million VND to disadvantaged students of Thu Dau Mot University.

Hopefully, these gifts, meaningful scholarships in the new year would bring students joy and confidence about a bright future.
