Vietnam bags more golds in E-sports, swimming

Vietnamese gamers outplayed their Mongolian opponents in the final game StarCraft in Hanoi on November 1, bringing home a gold medal. With enthusiastic support from home spectators at the Bach Khoa Competition House, Vietnam defeated Mongolia 2-1 to seal the victory. Experts said the victory was beyond Vietnam’s expectations as China was considered the No1 player of this game. This is the first gold medal for Vietnam in E-sports at the ongoing Asian Indoor Games. Sixty-one players from, nine Asian countries namely India, Bahrain, the Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Iran, Qatar, China, Uzbekistan and Vietnam, are competing in FiFa Soccer, NBA Live, Starcraft, NFS, Counter-strike and Dota events. Vietnam has sent 16 players to this game. The same day, 21-year-old Nguyen Nhat Tu grabbed a gold medal for Vietnam in bi-fins men’s final. This is the second gold medal Vietnamese swimmers have won since swimming competitions began on October 31 at AIG III. By 19.00 on November 1, Vietnam has won 10 golds, 4 silvers and five silvers, ranking second on the medal tally after China. (CPV/VOVNEWS)
