On Tet holidays, everywhere many activities are organized to care for poor workers. This year, along with local governments, grassroots trade unions, lodging house's owners actively join hands to organize many cultural and art activities, celebrate spring for workers, who cannot afford returning hometown on Tet holiday.

Cordial lodging houses

In the last days of the year, Trade Union at all levels in Di An Town are working closely with lodging house's owners to look after laborers who stay in Binh Duong on Tet holiday. Namely, lodging house's owners will hold small gatherings to celebrate New Year's Eve, go together to festivals at the beginning of new year, and cook rice cakes. A program of New Year meals was organized simultaneously by many wards for migrant workers cannot afford returning home.

Huynh Thi Tac, a worker from Phu Yen, said: "It's been a long time since I went back to my hometown to celebrate Tet with my family. The saddest thing is seeing people preparing to go home, but in return, the local government's attention organizes an enjoyable and meaningful music program”. In the spring atmosphere, a large number of people and workers in the town will be able to enjoy "Spring Festive Day" program. At the music show, people and workers may enjoy music and participate in folk games. Nguyễn Văn Bảy, Vice Chairman of Di An Town People's Committee, said: “Di An Town currently has 8,281 lodging houses, local government instructed administrative branches, unions and wards to work closely with lodging houses' owners to review the number of workers staying here on Tet holiday to enhance activities taking care of them”.

An Phu Ward (Thuan An Town) also cooperate with lodging houses' owners to organize more than 10 cultural art shows at lodging houses. This is really a spiritual connection, exchanging between the youth in the hamlet and workers at lodging houses. To take care of poor workers on Tet holiday, many lodging houses' owners in the ward also prepared warm meals for workers. Therefore, migrant workers in the province have more joy, motivation to welcome Tet in Binh Duong.

Together taking care of workers on Tet holiday

This year, to celebrate the spring, Provincial Labor Confederation cooperate with Department of Cultural, Sports and Tourism to hold 20 music shows to serve workers on Lunar New Year 2020. In addition, Labor Confederation of districts, towns and city in collaboration with Culture-Information Office opened gathering locations, cultural, sports programs for workers.

Besides entertainment programs, trade union at all levels will also hold of program "Happy Spring with workers", "Tet Reunion", "Tet meals". In addition, companies and enterprises are also organizing year-end parties with lucky draws, many valuable gifts for workers. According to the plan, trade unions in the province will give about 400,000 gifts to union members and workers, each gift worth from 100,000 to 500,000 VND.

In Tan Uyen Town, the attention of Party Committee, local authorities, and mass organizations has made the Tet 2020 atmosphere more joyful and cozier to employees living and working in the area. Earlier, Tan Uyen Town held the program "Tet Reunion" to give 90 bus tickets, 1,200 gifts to union members, workers having difficult circumstances, each worth 500,000 VND. Besides, Tan Uyen Town also organized a series of cultural and artistic programs "Celebrating the Party, Celebrating Spring" to bring people and workers unique music parties.
