WTA 2018 Declaration

In the afternoon of October 12, the delegates discussed to issue Binh Duong Declaration as the foundation for the next steps of World Technopolis Association affirming as an international organization in the central role of creating foundation for scientific urban areas.

BINH DUONG DECLARATION

WTA Binh Duong 2018

Binh Duong, October 12th, 2018

1. Following its official membership into the World Technopolis Association, Binh Duong Province, Viet Nam was honored to host the 11th WTA General Assembly 2018 and a series of events in celebration of the 20th anniversary of WTA, which is an important milestone for Binh Duong Province, Viet Nam in particular and the WTA community in general.
2. With numerous activities under the theme “Smart City - As an Innovation Engine for Sustainable Growth”, the 11th WTA General Assembly and the 2018 Global Innovation Forum have delivered practical benefits to Binh Duong Province and reflected the harmonious alignment between its development strategy under the project “Binh Duong Smart City” and the overall goals of the WTA.
3. Under the context of globalization and international integration with many opportunities and challenges, the 2018 WTA General Assembly in Binh Duong has set a new vision for WTA members in fulfilling their goals; established a platform to promote multilateral cooperation, transfer of science and technology, development of science and technology parks, focus on investment in clean technology and energy saving, and delivery of practical contributions to efforts to mitigate negative impacts and the implications of industrial development.
4. As a member of WTA, Binh Duong Authority hereby undertakes to develop concrete solutions for the implementation of the WTA missions; directing its focus on establishment of strong and organic partnerships between local, regional authorities and universities, research institutes and businesses for the shared prosperity and the well-being of local communities.
5. With the support of WTA and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), especially to promote the relationship between Binh Duong Province, Viet Nam and Daejeon Metropolitan City, Korea, Binh Duong Province will make every effort to create enabling conditions for organizations and individuals to focus on innovation, research and application of advanced scientific and technological achievements in the construction and development of Binh Duong; strengthen the relationship between Binh Duong and WTA members; promote cooperation between Binh Duong Province and UNESCO, build friendly and cooperative relations for mutual development; and join hands together towards a world of peace and prosperity./.
