224 scholarships awarded to needy pupils and students

Thuan An town has just held a ceremony to award scholarships to the local pupils and students with difficult circumstances.

At the ceremony, the town’s Sponsoring Association for Disabled People, Orphans and Poor Patients offered 224 scholarships worth more than VND224million (photo) to the local needy pupils and students, helping them surmount difficulties and rise up in study.

In 2017, under the support of organizations and individuals, the association organized many activities taking care of needy people with a total expense of VND1billion; built 13 houses of compassion for families in need of housing; awarded scholarships, 22 wheelchairs and 10 bicycles to pupils with difficulties and those with disability.

On this occasion, the town’s People’s Committee also awarded the certificates of merit to 3 collectives and 5 individuals with excellent achievements in the movements of the association in 2017.
