Update: 24-11-2020 | 10:10:35

On No 18th, Nguyen Thanh Truc, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, and representatives of departments and branches had a meeting with Southern Electricity Corporation's delegation led by Nguyen Van Hop, Directors Board's Chairman of the corporation, on the power supply plan for 2021-2025 period.

At the meeting, Nguyen Van Hop said that EVN SPC completed the plan to implement of production and construction investment targets in 2016-2019 period and 10 months of 2020, and gave directions to the 2021-2025 plan in Binh Duong province assigned by EVN, ensuring electricity supply to localities, including Binh Duong. However, according to Mr. Nguyen, electricity demand in Binh Duong province is increasing rapidly; some key areas, such as My Phuoc Industrial Park (Ben Cat Town), Bau Bang district etc., have the risk of overload.  Therefore, the organization of review and evaluation of electricity demand in key areas in the province is necessary, thereby to have detailed plan for the investment in power projects and works.

In 2020, commercial electricity output in the province is estimated at 14.186 billion kWh, forecast until 2025 the demand for commercial electricity of the province would be 20,876 billion kWh. It is estimated that the electricity sector would need more than VND 5,000 billion in investment capital for the construction of electricity projects in the province. Therefore, EVN SPC expects provincial leaders to continue supporting and creating favorable conditions in land clearance and land fund to soon execute electricity projects; supporting electricity sector to get preferential loans from Provincial Development Investment Fund for electricity projects in 2021-2025 period.

Nguyen Thanh Truc said the province would continue to support electricity sector in land recovery, create land fund for power projects. He assigned Department of Industry and Trade in collaboration with Binh Duong Electricity Company to examine key areas and demands for electricity to ensure the good electricity supply to serve well production and business activities and daily activities of people in the area. Particularly, regarding the proposal to access preferential loans from Provincial Development Investment Fund, Provincial People's Committee will consider carefully this in order to help electricity sector accessing capital to invest in electricity projects in the area, meeting the needs of socio-economic development.
