Binh Duong will soon win the fight against Covid-19 pandemic

Early July 27, provincial Party Committee held a conference between provincial leaders and delegations of ministries, central sectors, units and localities supporting the province in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic. Attending the conference were Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Truong Thi Bich Hanh, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Propaganda-Education Commission. At the meeting, delegates shared the same opinion that with drastic solutions, the efforts by the Party government and people of the province plus the support of ministries, central sectors, other localities, Binh Duong will control the pandemic as soon as possible.

Many practical contributive ideas

As of July 27 morning, the province had a total of 25 support delegations with 3,000 people, including 2,000 soldiers from police, armed forces and 1,000 medical workers. At the conference, representatives of the support delegations made many contributive ideas to the province in regulating and arranging human resources to ensure effectiveness in Covid-19 prevention and control. Especially, the delegations suggested that the province should ensure medical equipment and support vaccination for volunteers…

According to many opinions at the conference, the province should focus on stratifying and screening F0 cases to be more convenient in treatment. The province needs to have a unit that is responsible for transferring severe Covid-19 cases to higher-level hospitals, avoiding the situation of mild patients who have been transferred to intensive care units. Many opinions also focused on the issue of ensuring the quantity of medical supplies and labor protection equipment for frontline anti-Covid-10 forces.

Dr. Duong Chi Nam, Deputy Director of the Health Environmental Management Department under the Ministry of Health in Binh Duong said that the standing agency of the Ministry of Health has received more attention from provincial Party Committee, People's Committee. However, the province needs to pay more attention to the arrangement of human resources to take samples for Covid-19 testing. The province also needs to focus on supporting medical equipment and masks to avoid cross-infection.

Also according to Dr.Nam, the coordination of the province was very good over the past time. But, there will be more support delegations in the near future, so the province should consider setting up a coordination center for the delegations to avoid overlapping. “Currently, we are trying to improve the capacity of laboratories in Di An city, Ben Cat town, Thuan An city and even provincial Center for Disease Control to be able to enhance testing capacity from about 3,000 to 4,000 samples/day to 15,000 samples/day. Therefore, the province needs to have specific calculation in human resources," said Dr. Nam.

Binh Duong will soon win fight against Covid-19

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Thao acknowledged and highly appreciated the support of the delegations from ministries, central sectors and localities for Binh Duong’s Covid-19 prevention and control. He emphasized that the province's population is around 2.6 million people, including around 1.2 million laborers. The province borders Ho Chi Minh city, so the risk of the pandemic is always hidden. Binh Duong in particular and the whole country in general are facing an unprecedented pandemic risk.

The whole political system of the province and forces are struggling against the pandemic. Binh Duong is always open to receive support from forces, units and localities across the country. In a short time of about 1 week, Binh Duong has received many support delegations. This shows the heart and fine sentiment from other localities for the province. Mr. Thao wanted that in the spirit of sharing with the province, the delegations should consider Binh Duong's patients as patients in their localities, sharing efforts to protect public health. Through opinions at the conference, the province will learn from experience and organize better implementation in the coming time.

“We will protect safety for medical workers, armed forces with all our hearts. We will promptly correct shortcomings over the past time to ensure logicality, prediction, preventiveness and meet practical requirements. Believing that with the province’s drastic solutions, the efforts by the entire Party, army and people in the province, the support of ministries, sectors, and other localities, Binh Duong will put an end to the pandemic in the soonest time”, said Mr.Thao.
