Boosting coordination in taking solutions to curb traffic accidents

Early August 8, provincial Traffic Safety Committee held an online conference to partially review its activities ensuring traffic safety in the first half of 2019 and implement tasks for the rest of the year. Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, Head of provincial Traffic Safety Committee chaired the conference.

According to a report by provincial Traffic Safety Committee, as many as 731 traffic accidents occurred in the province, leaving 113 dead , 777 injured and damaging 1,311 various vehicles. The numbers represented a decrease of 185 cases (20.2%); a decrease of 2 in fatalities (1.48%) and 176 injuries in comparison with the same period last year.

Also during the period, there were 54 traffic jam cases, mainly in Thu Dau Mot city and Thuan An town. Compared to 2018, the local traffic safety situation in the first months of the year saw positive changes…

Speaking at the conference, Mr.Liem asked for functional agencies to boost patrols and seriously handle wrong cases on traffic safety. They also needed to improve the effectiveness of coordination in taking solutions to surmount traffic congestion on main streets, namely Highway 13, My Phuoc-Tan Van…while solving “black” points on traffic accidents, factors causing traffic chaos…, aiming to effectively curb traffic accidents.
