Bringing mid-autumn festival to poor laborers ‘offspring

Over the past days, sectors, authorities at all levels of the province visited and offered gifts to children at lodging facilities, social support centers on the occasion of the mid-autumn festival 2020, encouraging them to study harder and rise up in life.

Gifts for poor workers ‘offspring

On the evening of September 25, the Youth Union of Phu Loi ward in TDM city donated mid-autumn gifts worth around VND100,000 each, including moon cakes and lanterns, to the offspring of poor laborers in quarters 8 and 9. Although being small, these gifts were seen as a motivation for them to rise up.

Youth Union members from many other communes and wards across the province also held many significant activities taking care of the offspring of poor laborers. Based on expenditure mobilized, they donated reasonable gifts and organized full-moon festivals to create useful playgrounds for children.

Provincial Trade Unions at all levels have also instructed its branches to take care of children on the mid-autumn festival 2020. Based on their financial capacity, they offered gifts to children or organized significant programs for them.

Coming to poor, disabled children

Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (DoLISA) has just organized delegations to visit and offer gifts to children at 16 social support centers across the province on the occasion of the mid-autumn festival 2020. Le Minh Duoc Cuong, Director of provincial DoLISA said that although being small, these gifts were seen as a great motivation for children as well as the executive boards of the centers…

Early September 25, more than 1,000 gifts worth VND250,000 each, including 2 moon-cakes and VND150,000 in cash, were given for children at the centers. Two children H.T.D and N.N.H.H at the Bung parish’s charity house center in Thuan An city said that they will try harder in study to express gratitude to the local leaders as well as teachers of the center. And if seeking jobs in the future, they will send money to the center in order to help other advantaged children.

Mr.Cuong added that along with the State budget, sectors and authorities at all levels of the province have mobilized enterprises, donors to support gifts for children. This year, provincial DoLISA has donated hundreds of gifts and scholarships for children with difficult circumstances on the occasion of the mid-autumn festival.

In general, this year’s mid-autumn festival has still come to the offspring of poor workers, despite the impacts from Covid-19 pandemic.
