Creating momentum for economic breakthrough in northern region

Ben Cat town and Bau Bang district are seen as the gate of economy in the northern region of the province with advantages for development. Noticeably, the two localities ‘industrial production value gained robust growth over the past time. The industrial proportion of the two localities also dominated the total value of the province’s whole sector.

Synchronous traffic infrastructure

In an urban development strategy of the province, Ben Cat town and Bau Bang district are considered as a multi-functional urban area, connecting trade activities with Binh Phuoc and central Highlands provinces. Over the past years, the province attached special importance to urban development in the two localities. They are also acted as a bridge for trade activities of the urban region in the northern region of the province with the western region of HCM city, Mekong Delta region and Moc Bai international border gate in Tay Ninh province.

A glance of Bau Bang urban-industrial park

Over the past time, the province actively coordinated with neighboring localities to build up an inter-regional traffic infrastructure system, aiming to create a momentum for economic breakthrough in the northern region of the province. Along with the national highway 13, the My Phuoc-Tan Van expressway and inter-regional streets like the national highway 14, the belt street 4, the province has built another major works in the northern region, namely the Duc Hoa-Chon Thanh expressway, the HCM city-Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh, the Thu Dau Mot-My Phuoc-Bau Bang-Long Nguyen metro line, the Di An-Loc Ninh railway. Noticeably, once being completed, the Duc Hoa-Chon Thanh expressway will connect with the HCM highway, the national highway 22 and the trans-Asian highway, creating the 3rd motivation axis for economic development of the province. Whilst, the My Phuoc-Tan Van expressway is also a good preparation of the province in calling for investors to making investment in industrial parks in the northern region.

Regional development promoted

Together with existing industrial parks in Ben Cat town and Bau Bang district, Becamex IDC and its partners have had a sufficient preparation in infrastructure facilities for 5 industrial parks in Ben Cat town, including My Phuoc industrial parks 1, 2, 3, 4 and Thoi Hoa industrial park. These industrial parks have become an attraction for investors that are aiming at Binh Duong. So far, they have also absorbed large-scale projects, including Kumho Asiana Corp., Graft Vina Paper Co., Maruzen Foods Corp., Colgate-Palmolive Vietnam Co., Tomoku Vietnam Co.Ltd…

Bau Bang district is now home to 2 large-scale industrial parks, namely Bau Bang urban-industrial park and Tan Binh industrial park. Two other industrial parks Lai Hung and Cay Truong are being invested in infrastructure facilities and get ready to welcome investors. Some projects with great investment in the district include Ampacs International Co.Ltd., KyungBang Vietnam Co.Ltd. of South Korea; Lacouser Craft Viet Co.Ltd.; Singtex Vietnam Co.Ltd. of Seychelles…With the local strategy of “rolling out the red carpet to call for investors”, industrial parks in the district will continue absorbing more investment projects. Le Khac Tri, Chairman of the district’s People’s Committee said that the district will strive to get a target of becoming an industrial hub and being a satellite city in the northern region of the province, actively developing Binh Duong into a first-class city and creating a solid lever for socio-economic development of the province.

To make the target come true, the district is expected to develop another 2,300 hectares of industrial manufacture land and another 1,300 hectare of urban-service land and build the IDC Bau Bang port. Becamex IDC will also coordinate with businesses, organizations from South Korea, Holland and Singapore to form up a sci-tech industrial park and a smart production center 4.0 in the district, opening up a creative ecosystem for corporations and businesses to meet and exchange. Covering 900 hectares, the sci-tech industrial park is among major projects belonging to the Binh Duong smart city project which is developed under the model of South Korea’s Daejeon city, Holland’s Eindhoven city and many other scientific cities around the world.

Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that the province has continued boosting the progress of establishing and expanding industrial parks and compounds. The province will also make support policies and encourage industrial manufacture facilities in the southern region to change into trade-service-urban and hi-tech industrial development; boost industrial manufacture in the northern region in line with the local development plan…
