Database project of industry and trade sector implemented

In early February 2021, provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) held a ceremony signing the contact with the joint venture VNPT - Center for Geotechnical Technology (Ditagis) on "Binh Duong Industry and Trade Database Project".

Under the contract, the sides will develop professional software for the industry and trade sector on web application platform, mobile application, create a database for the sector while organizing training and technology transfer.

According to experts, the consortium of contractors (VNPT - Ditagis) has received high credit because they are all experienced and capable units to implement the project as required. Vo Thi Thanh Huong, Director of VNPT’s Binh Duong branch said that so far, VNPT has gradually transformed from a traditional telecommunications service provider to a quality, innovative digital service provider (DSP). Meanwhile, Luu Dinh Hiep, Director of Geotechnical Center (Ditagis), said that Ditagis under Ho Chi Minh City Polytechnic University is also one of the units with many experience and capacity in the fields of research, development and application of information technology and geographic information systems…

Sharing about the expectations of building a database for the local industry and trade sector, Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of provincial DoIT affirmed that information technology has been and will become important tools to effectively serve State management. This is seen clearly during the Covid-19 pandemic. The digitization and application of information technology contributed positively to the development of the local trade and sector, better serving people and businesses.

“The database project has been identified as a fairly important content in the tasks of the local sector of industry and trade in 2021. It will contribute to well realizing administrative reform, modernizing State management of the sector, helping the sector transform data management, process operations from the traditional methods to the computerized and electronic ones, contributing to digitalizing the data of the sector, bettering serving people and businesses’ needs for searching and exploiting relevant data, thereby forming a database of the sector to provide for the national linkage of the province. This is a valuable data source for analytic, evaluative and predictive tools, contributing to building up Binh Duong smart city ”, said Mr.Toan.
