On the afternoon of March 15, a delegation of the National Assembly (NA)’s Committee for Social Affairs, led by Bui Sy Loi, Deputy Head of the Committee had a working session with provincial Department of Health and relevant agencies about the local implementation of the Law on Health Insurance and the Law on Prevention, Control of Tobacco Harms.

Delegates at the working session

At the working session, provincial Department of Health informed the delegation of the local realization of the above laws while suggesting central sectors and ministries to soon promulgate documents guiding the implementation of amended policies in a synchronous way to be able to effectively realize them… The province also faced certain difficulties in the process of realizing the Law on Prevention, Control of Tobacco Harms over the past time.

Addressing the working session, Mr.Loi spoke highly of results done by Binh Duong for the above laws. The province’s model of “Schools and medical facilities without tobacco smoke” is very good. But, coordination between the local sectors of education and health needs to be strengthened. Regarding the Law on Health Insurance, one of the province’s vital things is to further develop those who join health insurance, especially for pupils, private enterprises, individual business households…

Earlier, the delegation also made a fact-finding trip on the implementation of the Law on Health Insurance and the Law on Prevention, Control of Tobacco Harms at Thuan An town’s Health Center.

*On the morning of the same day, the delegation also worked with provincial Job Placement Center about its activities in 2016 and orientations for 2017.

Reportedly, the center last year organized 25 job transaction sessions, introduced jobs for more than 117,000 people, gave short-term vocational training for around 1,800 people, opened 12 classes on labor relationship and 12 classes on skills to seek jobs. The center also linked with State agencies, organizations and enterprises to generate jobs for laborers; made mobilize consultancy programs, organized online job transaction floors; solved policies on unemployment insurance for more than 61,000 people…

Concluding the working session, Mr.Loi said that the center had a variety of innovation in favor of laborers, but there were few people with unemployment insurance allowance returning to the center for vocational learning. Hence, the center was required to boost propaganda work among them so that they can understand and use unemployment benefit for vocational learning. The center also needs to open more vocational training classes at labor market’s diversified demand at present.
