Indonesia has ramped up its efforts to eliminate online gambling in recent years. The official said the move is aimed at curbing the widespread proliferation of online gambling in the digital space. He stressed that online gambling undermines productivity, devastates household finances, and jeopardises the future of younger generations.

According to government data, without timely intervention, the potential financial damage from online gambling could reach around 1,000 trillion IDR (approximately 60 billion USD) by the end of 2025./.
