Local argo-forestry and fishery value reaches over VND15.37trillion

Early January 13, provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DoARD) held a conference to review its activities in 2016 and deploy tasks for 2017, in attendance of Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

In 2016, the province’s agro-forestry-fishery value was estimated at more than VND15.37trillion, up 4.06% compared to 2015. The average product value on one hectare of farming land reached around VND91million. There were 98.5% of people in the rural region in use of clean water. So far, the province has had 32 out of 49 communes recognized as newly-rural ones. Dau Tieng district and Tan Uyen town have also been recognized as newly-rural localities…

Many tasks and solutions were also put forward at the conference. For 2017’s targets, the sector will strive to gain a growth of 4% in agro-forestry-fishery value compared to 2016; have 99% of people in the rural region in use of clean water…

Speaking at the conference, Mr.Dung spoke highly of achievements done by the sector over the past time while asking for it to further implement a scheme on “restructuring the agricultural sector towards improving added value and sustainable development”; a plan on urban and hi-tech agricultural production in association with consumption, processing and newly-rural construction for the 2016-2020 period…
