Over VND6.6billion spent on supporting needy cases

Phu Giao district’s Red Cross Society in the first nine months of 2017 mobilized more than VND6.64billion from social charity models and programs, thereby offering help to 17,626 needy cases.

Under the program of “Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims”, the society mobilized nearly VND227million to support the poor; mobilized and presented 3,917 gifts worth more than VND1billion to those who have difficult circumstances. The society also mobilized donors to help 156 needy cases with nearly VND400million; built and handed over 8 “red cross” houses worth VND396million to the poor; continued maintaining a “charity rice jar” model …through the campaign of “Each organization, individual should stick to a humanitarian address”.

In addition, the society coordinated with relevant units to provide free medical check-ups and medicine for 630 cases with a total expense of more than VND393million; maintained a “charity kitchen” model, offering help to 7,910 cases with a total expense of more than VND90million…
