Province further maintains stable socio-economic growth

At the 14th (open) session of the Executive Board of the 10th provincial Party Committee held yesterday, December 1, delegates reached unanimity on provincial People’s Committee report of the local socio-economic development, national defence-security in 2017. Targets surpassing the set plan

At the session, Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that the province continued maintaining stable socio-economic development with total GRDP surging 9.15% and average GRDP per capita reaching VND115.9million. The province’s industrial production also continued going up with index of industrial production up 10.98%.

An overview of the session

In 2017, the province continued taking synchronous solutions to improve the local investment climate and support startup businesses; regularly organized meetings with industries’ associations, domestic and FDI businesses. The province also absorbed more than US$2.51billion in FDI capital, surpassing nearly 80% of the year’s plan and more than VND42.37billion.

The province’s export turnover reached more than VND28.53billion while import value was estimated at more than US$23.81billion. Thus, the province’s trade surplus was more than VND4.7billion…The province also actively implemented many solutions  to mobilize resources for development investment. The province’s total investment for social development was estimated at more than VND81.26trillion, up 11.6%.

According to the above report, the province’s total State budget collection in 2017 was estimated at VND46.5trillion, up 16% compared to the corresponding period last year. Province-based system of credit organizations continued going up. Till now, the whole province has had a total of 64 credit organizations with 165 transaction offices. The total capital mobilized in the province was estimated at VND164trillion, up 14.5% against the same period last year; total outstanding loans at more than VND139trillion, up 20.3% compared to the same period last year.

Paying attention to fields of culture-health

The report also specified that the province’s task of ensuring social welfare, job creation and vocational training gained a variety of active results. The province mobilized resources to take care of social policy beneficiaries and realized solutions on sustainable poverty reduction; continued reaching positive changes in terms of child care and protection, gender equality and prevention of social evils.

The province’s sector of education and training continued improving the quality of learning and teaching while attaching special importance to comprehensive development among pupils and students. The province’s socialization in the field of education-training also continued being accelerated…

Along with the above results, the province well realized activities in the field of culture-sports and tourism. Many cultural-sports activities in celebration of the nation’s great holidays and the province’s political events, especially the 20th anniversary of the province’s reestablishment were organized. The province also worked with relevant agencies to successful hold the second National “Don ca tai tu” (southern folk music) festival 2017. Sustainable growth

In 2018, based on results done in 2017, targets of the Resolution of the 10th provincial Party Congress, provincial plan on five-year socio-economic plan for the period of 2016-2020, provincial People’s Committee has set major targets and tasks for socio-economic development. Accordingly, the province’s overall targets are to further promote sustainable socio-economic development; make the shift of economic structure towards the growth of services and industrial production; strive to reach the growth of 20.1%, 9% and 9% in terms of service value, total retail sales revenue of commodities-services and index of industrial production, respectively; attach special importance to improving the quality of growth, encouraging renewal, creativeness and business startup; continue perfecting socio-economic infrastructure, making urban-service development, contributing to completing a goal of improving people’s lives, building up a smart city.

In addition, the province will continue boosting the national target program on new rural construction and sustainable poverty reduction; attach special importance to promoting education-training, raise the quality of human resources, boost sci-tech application in production at the local demand for socio-economic development; strengthen administrative reform, prevent corruption and wastefulness, enhance transparency and competitive capacity, create a favorable investment climate; improve the efficiency of foreign relations and be proactive in the international economic integration.

In 2018, the province will strive to reach VND52.5trillion in State budget collection and VND17trillion in State budget spending. The province will also continue focusing on effectively taking solutions on tax collection management; generate jobs for 45,500 laborers; mobilize resources to well realize social support and “paying debt of gratitude” policies; effectively carry out the national target programs on job creation and sustainable poverty reduction; improve people’s material and spiritual lives…
