Province further reaches stable socio-economic development

Nguyen Hoang Thao, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee presided over a periodic session in October, 2020 with focus on reviewing the local socio-economic development, national defence-security in October and since early this year. The session was also attended by Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; members of provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Fatherland Front Committee.

Positive signs

In 2020, natural disasters and epidemics, especially Covid-19 hav occurred complicatedly, greatly affecting socio-economic fields and people’s lives. In the face of the situation, provincial Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee have focused on removing difficulties, implementing the “dual tasks” of fighting Covid-19 pandemic and boosting socio-economic development. All helped the local socio-economic situation in October and over the past 10 months gain positive signs.

Accordingly, the province’s index of industrial production in October surged 6.4% and 12.23% compared to the previous month and the same period last year. The index over the past 10 months increased by 6.77% against the same period last year. The province’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services in October was more than VND208.1trillion, up 11.7% compared to the same period last year. The province also absorbed more than VND59.49trillion in domestic capital, up 20.6% against the same period last year and more than US$1.66trillion in FDI capital, beyond 19% of the year’s plan.

The province’s export turnover in October surged 3.6% and 21.1% compared to the previous month and the same period last year while import value rose by 9% and 14.2% against the previous month and the corresponding period last year. The province’s trade surplus over the past 10 months was more than US$5billion. Continuing well realizing groups of measures  

The session also approved some contents: the report on the instruction of socio-economic situation, national defense-security in October, 2020; the statement and draft resolution of support policies for advanced new-style rural construction for the 2021-2025 period; the statement and draft resolution of decentralized administration on officials, civil servants and laborers.

At the session, delegates discussed and analyzed the local results on socio-economic development over the past 10 months while pointing out shortcomings and solutions with focus on increasing State budget revenues; removing difficulties to promote the local socio-economic development…

Addressing the session, Mr.Thao acknowledged the efforts by sectors, units and localities in implementing the local targets on socio-economic development over the past 10 months. He also asked for sectors, departments and localities to drastically take solutions on socio-economic development for the rest of the year in order to complete the set targets, including organizing dialogues with industries ‘associations, foreign and domestic investors; setting up a plan on market price stabilization for essential commodities in late 2020 and early 2021; sufficiently realizing support policies for businesses affected by Covid-19 pandemic; speeding public capital disbursement; organizing foreign affairs in line with the situation of Covid-19 pandemic…
