Strengthening support for farmers

From the beginning of 2020, provincial Farmers’Association Standing Committee made an action program to concretize targets and solutions in boosting the establishment of occupational groups, association branches among farmers. The association instructed and guided its branches to set up 30 occupational groups, association branches on cultivation, animal husbandry…

Over the past time, the local farmers actively got involved in the emulation movement of “good farmer in production-business”

Provincial Farmers ‘Association and its branches propagandized and mobilized members, farmers to improve production-business models in line with the shift of the local economic structure and set up 97 cooperatives. Last year, they also developed additional 9 cooperatives on agricultural production and services or 300% of the set target. The whole province is now home to 61 cooperatives on agricultural production with nearly 900 members.

In addition, provincial Farmers ‘Association improved and enhanced the effectiveness of support activities and vocational training for farmers to develop production-business models. The association and its branches mobilized well-off households, fertilizer agents and companies to sell agricultural materials under deferred payments for members, helping them develop home-based business. They also gave support on breeding animals, nurslings, fertilizer for farmers while getting involved in clearing canals, tending the local special orchards, helping farmers get access to sci-tech advancements…

Contributing to new-style rural construction

Last year, the association’s movement of “farmers emulating in production-business, helping each other get rich and reduce sustainable poverty” reached 100.36% of the central target. The association also further launched the emulation movement of “good farmers in production and business” among farmers. As a result, there were more than 35,120 households winning the title of “good farmer” at all levels. The emulation movement also contributed to realizing the local target on sustainable poverty reduction.

Under the new-style rural construction program, the association and its branches also took part in building the models of “civilized urban street”, “model street”, “quarter without waste”…As a result, the association carried out a flower street of 7km; mobilized members to donate land, make other contributions to upgrading rural roads with a total value of VND15.5billion; cleared 262.6 km of in-field canals, upgraded 10 bridges and sewers.

They also funded construction of 6 “great unity” houses worth VND410million; coordinated with relevant units to build 64 charity, “great unity” houses with total cost of more than VND4.5billion; helped 81 members escape poverty…

Pham Van Loi, Vice-Chairman of provincial Farmers ‘Association said that the association will continue effectively implementing the movement of “farmers emulating in production-business, helping each other get rich and reduce sustainable poverty” in 2021. The association will also develop effective models, guide and support farmers to take part in fostering collective economic models; mobilize them to actively carry out the national target program on civilized urban and new-style rural construction, environmental protection and well organize support activities for farmers to develop production-business models.

For 2021’s targets, the association will strive to reach more than 30,000 households winning the title of “good farmer” at all levels; gain the 10% growth of the Support Fund for Farmers; establish at least 15 cooperatives, cooperative groups; have 100% of branches to maintaining and enhancing the operational effectiveness of models on environmental protection, self-management ones on order and security…
