Provincial leader welcomes Minister-President of Belgium’s Flanders region

Early May 17, Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee received Minister-President of Belgium's Flanders region Geert Bourgeois. Accompanying the delegation were the Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam Jehanne Roccas and more than 60 enterprises from Flanders region and Belgium operating in the province.

At the reception, Mr.Liem informed the delegation of the province’s socio-economic development over the past time while wanting that Mr.Geert Bourgeois will further introduce the province’s investment climate to Belgian enterprises. Provincial leaders will also continue creating favorable conditions for foreign investors to work effectively.

Mr.Geert Bourgeois thanked provincial leaders for their warm welcome; simultaneously stressed that the province’s economic development policies, remarkable economic growth via the evolution of industrial parks and universities left a strong impression on the delegation. The goal of the delegation’s visit was to strengthen cooperation with the province, especially in the economic field.

It is known that Belgium has advocated the approval of the free trade agreement between Europe and Vietnam. Once being signed, it will create a stronger motivation for the bilateral trade relation between the two sides, contributing to helping Binh Duong absorb more Belgian investors.
