Wednesday, 28/04/2021

In order to promptly respond to the resurgence of Covid-19 pandemic in some neighboring countries, Binh Duong has been proactive to raise the warning level about the risk of the pandemic outbreak. During the upcoming holidays of April 30 and May 1-5, the province's functional forces will work all day to tighten Covid-19 prevention and control, being ready to respond in any epidemic situation.

Raising warning level

Dr. Nguyen Hong Chuong, Director of provincial Department of Health said that Covid-19 epidemic in the world is very complicated. The pandemic is booming on a large scale in some neighboring countries. As of April 26, Thailand had a total of 55,460 Covid-19 cases, 140 deaths; Cambodia had 9,975 Covid-19 cases, 74 deaths; Laos had 323 Covid-19 cases and no deaths.

Localities actively propagandize and call for people to strengthen measures against Covid-19 pandemic in the new situation

In Binh Duong, there were no new Covid-19 cases recorded in the community during the past days, but the risk of the pandemic outbreak again is very high. “They are cases of illegal entry and people going out, traveling back on the occasion of April 30 and May 1 holidays. Along with that, under the  "dual goals" of economic development and Covid-19 prevention-control, the province has continued welcoming foreign experts for working. Recently, with a subjective mentality, some places have not strictly followed requirements of Covid-19 prevention and control. In the face of the situation, Binh Duong has actively tightened Covid-19 prevention and control, raised the warning level about the risk of the Covid-19 outbreak, and is ready to respond to all epidemic situations ”, said Dr. Chuong.

With the motto of active prevention, early detection, fast isolation, provincial Department of Health has directed the local medical units to quickly add plans against the pandemic, restart concentrated isolation areas, ensure isolation capacity for a large number of dangerous cases, especially illegal entries that may increase in the coming future. Along with that, the sector has continued to deploy the second phase of Covid-19 vaccination with safety and effectiveness ensured. Provincial Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has strengthened its capacity of testing, proactively screening on a wide range of cases with symptoms of cough, fever, shortness of breath, respiratory infections and other cases with high risk of infection in the community. Dr. Van Quang Tan, Director of provincial General Hospital said that the hospital is consolidating its treatment area for Covid-19 patients…

Continuing strictly complying with “5K” message

Leaders of departments, sectors, districts, towns and cities in the province have drastically directed the implementation of provincial People's Committee’s Official Dispatch No.1745/UBND-VX. Some units have also set up monitoring teams on Covid-19 prevention and control with activities such as implementing the “5K” message of the Ministry of Health, limiting events and mass gatherings of people that are unnecessary. For a number of organized activities, safe measures for pandemic prevention and control are required to be implemented strictly

Pham Van Bay, Vice-Chairman of Di An City’s People's Committee said that the city now has 965 community Covid-19 groups in 41 quarters of 7 wards. Currently, these groups are actively capturing information on the cases of people leaving, going to the locality, promoting propaganda against the pandemic. The local sectors and mass organizations are taking part in checking the wear of masks and anti-epidemic measures in health facilities, crowded areas such as supermarkets, shopping malls…during the upcoming holidays…

Over the past days, the local police force strengthened management, detecting and strictly handling organizations and individuals involved the actions of sending or harboring people who enter illegally. The sector has advocated to uphold the responsibility of leaders of its local Party organizations, those who are in charge of residence management; especially coordinated with the health sector to ensure security and order in the concentrated isolation areas to prevent Covid-19 pandemic, ensuring that people have a safe and happy holiday.

Nguyen Loc Ha, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee: “In the face of the complicated situation of Covid-19 epidemic in some bordering countries, Binh Duong has tightened pandemic prevention and control in each locality, unit, raising the level of warning about the risk of pandemic outbreaks, increasing inspection and preparing to respond when detecting Covid-19 positive cases. Especially, during the upcoming holidays, leaders of localities and units must be ready to work, strictly implement the task of immediate response to opportunely update the situation of Covid-19 pandemic and effective prevention-control to the pandemic”.

Speaking at the meeting on Covid-19 prevention and control held at the headquarters of the Government on April 26, the Prime Minister requested ministries, sectors, localities, organizations, units and each person must absolutely do not neglect, raise awareness and responsibility for the health of the community and individuals, focus on strictly implementing the set measures against the pandemic
