Socio-cultural issues to be actively overseen

Provincial People’s Council’s Committee for Socio-Cultural Affairs, on January 11, held a meeting to review its activities in 2016’s Q4 and devise orientations, tasks for 2017’s Q1, in attendance of Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Vice-Chairwoman of provincial People’s Council.

In 2016’s Q4, the Committee held 4 inspection tours of sectors, departments and units in the province, thereby proposing 17 groups of issues in the realization of the local tasks on socio-economic development. The Committee also took part in verifying draft reports, resolutions of the 3^rd session of provincial People’s Council; attended conferences, seminars on socio-cultural affairs…Suggestions by the Committee helped provincial People’s Committee and functional agencies to strengthen solutions to remove difficulties, redress shortcomings and enhance the effectiveness of State management in this field.

In 2017, the Committee has set up a plan on overseeing the local situation of employment, vocational training, workplace accidents, sustainable poverty reduction, English teaching at schools, pupils’ morality, medicine price increase…
