VND729billion mobilized for poverty reduction program in 2016-2018 period

The province’s total cost for the National Target Program on Poverty Reduction for the period of 2016-2018 is VND729billion, including VND610billion from the local State budget and VND119billion from socialization.

To implement a goal of sustainable poverty reduction, the province has strengthened propaganda work, raising public awareness of the community about poverty reduction and mobilized people from all strata to well realize a movement of “Binh Duong joining hands for the poor”. The province has also continued upholding the effectiveness of diversification of social resources for poverty reduction in order to reduce the rate of poor households to 0.2%-0.3% per year. As planned, till 2020, the rate of poor households in the province will decrease to below 1%.
