Province-based VSIPs have always attached special importance to environmental protection towards sustainable development. Particularly, VSIPs 1, 2 and 2A have so far set up reports on environmental assessment that were approved by the local functional agencies. They have also built a mobile surveillance system under the province’s regulation on environmental protection; controlled over harmful waste water as stipulated; paid quarterly environmental protection fees; carried out surveillance and assessed the quality of water resources; evaluated the actuality of environment  every three months…Upon these, their quality of environment has always reached national technical regulations QCVN 05:2013/BTNMT, QCVN 26:2010/BTBMT and QCVN 27:2010/BTNMT with clean and green scenery…

To efficiency from environmental protection

Possibly speaking, environmental protection towards sustainable development has helped province-based VSIPs reach success. They are always appreciated as the most effective place in using land with the value of investment capital of US$6.6million per hectare. They now generate jobs for more than 143,000 laborers.

Additionally, province-based VSIPs have so far brought a favorable investment climate to investors, contributing to creating surplus value to the society. Their total export value has so far reached US$22.8billion, equivalent to VND500trillion, greatly contributing to the export value of Vietnam in general and the province in particular. Noticeably, they have applied and maintained systems on ISO 14001:2015 environmental management and OHASAS 18001:2007 occupational health and safety management towards a green, clean and safety working environment.

As of March 2017, province-based VSIPs absorbed 550 investment projects from more than 30 countries and territories. In 2014 and 2016, they were awarded the certificates of merit of provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment for their excellent achievements in environmental protection and have just received the Environmental Award 2017 from provincial People’s Committee…
