Binh Duong ranks fifth at national Vovinam champs

The 2017 National Vovinam Championships concluded yesterday at provincial Sporting Event Hall in Binh Duong new city after five days of competition.

This year’s tournament was co-held by provincial Department of Culture-Sports and Tourism, Vietnam Vovinam Federation and Vietnam General Department of Sports and Physical Training, absorbing 380 athletes (243 male, 137 female) from 31 units nationwide. Participating athletes competed for 48 sets of medals in 26 combat events and 22 performance ones.

After 5 days of competition, HCM city took the lead with 15 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. Can Tho ranked second with 7 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals. Thanh Hoa was third with 5 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals. The host team Binh Duong took fifth position with 4 gold and 5 bronze medals.
