Cyprus hopes Vietnam will continue its prosperous development, President of the Republic of Cyprus , Demetris Christofias, said on December 20.

At a reception with Vietnamese ambassador to Cyprus, Nguyen Hoang Long, who came to present the credentials of President Truong Tan Sang, President Christofias also congratulated Vietnam for its achievements during the Doi moi (Renewal) process.

He said he is ready to support the newly-appointed ambassador during his tenure in the country.

Long spoke highly of Cyprus ’ socio-economic development in recent time, and praised its successful EU presidency in the last six months of 2012.

Long stressed that he will do his best to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Vietnam and the Republic of Cyprus./.
