  Creating more suitable jobs for women will help them secure a stable life

Providing loans for economic development

 

“Saving Day for Poor Women” is one of the effective movements launched by provincial Women’s Union. Upon this fund, provincial Women’s Union and its have considered and provided loans for needy women.

 

In 2011, provincial Women’s Union and its affiliates have mobilized more than VND1.4bln, exceeding VND530mln compared the set target. They have used to this fund to provide loans for 1,270 needy women to develop homebased business.

 

The whole province has so far developed 696 credit groups with 12,300 members. These credit groups in the first half of the year provided VND3.3bln in loan for 4,176 women.

 

Also thanks to the above loans, many local women have risen up out of poverty. Le Thi Thanh Hong, a poor woman in quarter 9, Phu Hoa ward said that she has effectively used loans to develop homebased business, helping her secure a stable life…

 

Employment creation and consultancy

 

Together with loan disbursement, provincial Women’s Union and its affiliates have paid attention to consulting and introducing jobs to the local women.

 

In the first half of the year, they introduced jobs to 1,052 women. Provincial Women’s Center for Job Creation also gave vocational advice to 1,955 women; opened two vocational-oriented classes and one cooking class for rural laborers…

 

After the completion of the vocational-oriented classes, the local women have also been offered jobs by the center.

 

Mai Thi Phuong, from Thuan Giao ward Women’s Union in Thuan An town, said that established in 2008, the local Women’s Union’s synthetic flower-making club has so far seen effective development with nearly 200 members. It has not only helped the local women increase their income, but also helped them have favorable conditions to take care of their families.

 

Or, Tran My Han, director of My Han Production-Trading-Services Co.Ltd. said: “In addition to prioritizing to create jobs for women, I have bravely provided products for them to carry outwork at home. Thanks to having stable jobs, many women have secured a stable life. I also feel happy when contributing to helping many women escape poverty”.
