An inspection delegation of provincial People’s Council Standing Committee, led by Mrs.Mai Thi Dung-Permanent Member of provincial People’s Council, on February 21, had a working session with provincial Department of Information and Communications on the results of application of information technology (IT) at province-based State agencies.

Over the past time, the department was the investor of many projects on application of IT and Geographic Information System (GIS), including those of upgrading the province’s GIS database based on existing data sources, researching overall IT applications in the province…In 2013, as many as 2,019 State cadres at provincial and district levels were equipped with computers. There were also 100% of State units with Local Area Network (LAN); 100% of State units with ADSL Internet connection…

So far, the dedicated data network has completed its connection with 94 places, comprising of State agencies. 27 out of 28 State agencies have used soft wares on text management and 70% of officials and civil servants have regularly used email for their work…
