Around 160 young Overseas Vietnamese (OV) will attend the opening of Vietnam Summer Camp 2012 at the Culture-Tourism Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Minorities in Hanoi on July 12.
This annual event held by the National Committee for Overseas Vietnamese will provide a good chance for them to gain a better understanding of their homeland’s history and culture.
Various activities will be held from July 11 to 28 in many localities across the country to commemorate the 60th death anniversary of heroic martyr Vo Thi Sau, the 150th anniversary of Con Dao Prison and the 65th anniversary of the War Invalids' and Martyrs' Day (July 27).
At the opening ceremony, ethnic minority groups of Thai from Son La, Ha Nhi from Lao Cai, Muong from Thanh Hoa and Gia Rai, Ede, Mnong and Xo Dang from Dak Lak will introduce the Culture-Tourism Village as a common house of 54 ethnic groups living in Vietnam to OVs and international friends.
