Whole country welcomes 8 million tourists during April 30 and May 1 holiday

*Tourists to Binh Duong increase by 8% over the same period of 2023

During the five-day holiday of National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1), Vietnam’s tourism sector served about 8 million visitors, marking a year-on-year increase of 14.2%.

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the average room occupancy at accommodation establishments nationwide reached 60%, and even up to 95%-100% in some coastal destinations.

*Meanwhile, on the April 30 and May 1 holiday, tourism service businesses in Binh Duong province set up thoughtful service plans, building diverse, new and attractive tour programs to attract more tourists.

According to statistics from provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, from April 27 to May 1, the local tourism service businesses welcomed about 151,000 visitors, with a total revenue of about VND83 billion. The number of visitors to Binh Duong during the holiday increased by 8% compared to the same period last year while the local total tourism revenue marked a year-on-year increase of 18.6%. Particularly, Dai Nam tourist complex welcomed about 70,000 visitors. Thuy Chau tourist area welcomed nearly 40,000 visitors.

Notably, the artistic water music performance on the Saigon River in Thu Dau Mot city attracted more than 50,000 tourists and local people.
