*Provincial Preventive Health Center awarded the certificate of merit from the Prime Minister

Provincial Health Department, on January 25, held a conference to review medical activities during 2012, the 25-year implementation of the open vaccination program and partially sum up the two-year implementation of the support project on development of district/town-level health centers between 2011 and 2015.  

On this occasion, 9 collectives and 7 individuals were awarded the certificates of merit from the Ministry of Health; 7 collectives and 22 individuals were awarded the certificates of merit from provincial People’s Committee and 15 individuals were also awarded the certificates of merit from provincial Department of Health for their achievements in the open vaccination program between 1986 and 2012.

Despite difficulties, the local medical sector last year reaped important results. The whole sector absorbed additional 1,120 staff; there were 100% of health stations with doctors and midwives, 100% quarters and hamlets with health workers…The sector also saw a robust development on medical examination and treatment network…

Addressing the conference, provincial People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Huynh Van Nhi applauded the local medical sector for its achievements done over the past time. He also suggested that in 2013, the sector needs to pay attention to strengthening disease prevention, food safety and hygiene; improving the quality of public healthcare; raising the responsible spirit and medical ethics of the local medical staff.
