The opening ceremony of the 11th Binh Duong Television Singing Competition for the Elderly took place at provincial Cultural and Cinema Center on the afternoon of September 2.

The competition is annual held by Binh Duong Radio-Television Station on the occasion of International Day for the Elderly (October 1), aiming to create an useful playground for the elderly in southern provinces and cities.

This year’s competition has absorbed 15 art troupes from southern provinces and cities, including HCM city, Dong Nai, Ninh Thuan, Dong Thap, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Binh Duong. Among them, there are Binh Duong’s 4 art troupes: Di An town’s 1/10 Club, Thuan An town’s art troupe for the elderly, Ben Cat district’s art troupe for the elderly, provincial Cultural and Cinema Center’s Poetic Club.

All art troupes will compete at the qualifying round of the competition from September 2 to 27. Six art troupes with the highest achievement will be sorted out for the final round of ranking on the evening of September 28 and 29.
