A ceremony to review the 2013 Binh Duong summer youth volunteer campaign took place animatedly with many fun-filled activities , including meaningful dramas on environmental protection, dancing items…All were seen as thanks of the campaign’s steering board for volunteer squads that made contributions to the three-month campaign.

Volunteer activities in Laos

Possibly speaking, the results of the 2013 Binh Duong summer youth volunteer campaign came from the integral efforts by Youth Unions at all levels. Binh Duong’s youth volunteer squads were present in some poor provinces, including Binh Phuoc, Dak Lac, Dak Nong, especially in Laos’Champasak province. At the visiting places, they contributed to share difficulties with locals.

It is known that the 2013 provincial summer youth volunteer campaign focused on five main programs: “Urban civilization, workplace civilization-Beauty of Youth Union members”, “New rural construction”, “For a green environment”, “Giving strength in exam season-Giving strength to go to school”.

Provincial Youth Union and its affiliates made considerable results during the three-month campaign, including building and installing lighting systems on rural roads; teaming up with Yamaha Co. to teach, grant driving certificates of A1 type for young workers, present helmets to them; mobilizing organizations and individuals to build 12 houses of compassion and 3 works on clean water; visiting and presenting 1,818 gifts to policy beneficiary families, Vietnamese heroic mothers; seeking safe lodging facilities for needy candidates; coordinating with relevant units to support 1,000 meals for needy candidates…

Especially, a volunteer delegation of provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association, Young Physicians’ Club, Dau Tieng Rubber One-Member Co.Ltd. and Dau Tieng-Viet Lao Rubber Joint Stock Co. visited, presented gifts and medicine to 500 poor people in Laos’Champasak province. The trip left a good impression on people in the  neighboring country of Laos.

For a green city

As a part of the ceremony reviewing the 2013 summer youth volunteer campaign, the first festival “Binh Duong’s youth for a green city”  took place very animatedly with the participation of more than 300 youth volunteers.

In addition to enjoying sketches on environmental protection, participants were heard about the models winning the 2013 Binh Duong environmental awards, comprising of the model “A golden hour for power saving in accordance with Uncle Ho’s teachings”; took part in games on environmental protection; visited an exhibition with booths on recycled products, photos depicting environmental protection and activities during the 2013 summer youth volunteer campaign…

Youth volunteers who made outstanding contributions to the 2013 summer youth volunteer campaign will be sorted out to attend classes for candidates for the Party organized by provincial Agencies Bloc’s Party Committee. They will be monitored and developed in the 2014 summer youth volunteer campaign.

The 2014 provincial summer youth volunteer campaign will attach special importance to expand its scale while strengthening volunteer activities in the province, according Pham Hong Thang, Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union.

Provincial Youth Union and its affiliates will also focus on practical activities; coordinate with sectors to mobilize all sources to take part in the campaign; attach special importance to training life skills for youth volunteers…
