More than 600 workers from Libya arrived at the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at 10.30 on March 7.
A flight with 319 passengers on board, including 19 Cambodian students, departed from Tunisia and arrived at Noi Bai at 10am and another one from Turkey also landed at 10.30 with 310 workers on board.
Many relatives of the workers and representatives of labour export companies were at the airport to welcome them home.
Chu Thi Hoan, a worker’s wife, said she was very happy to know that her husband will return home. The Vietnamese State has paid great attention to workers abroad.
Among the evacuees from Libya are 19 Cambodian students. They were very happy that Vietnamese authorities helped them to evacuate from Libya.
Mithsles, a Cambodian student, said he wanted to express his sincere thanks to the Vietnamese Government and embassy in Libya for helping them to escape from Libya.
According to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, 16 flights carrying more than 1,000 workers from Tunisia, Turkey and Greece will land at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat International Airports on March 7. More than 7,600 workers have so far returned home from unrest-ravaged Libya.
